Your messages stay on your phone
PhonIQ has to read your SMS and calls to be useful. Here is exactly where that information goes, and where it does not.
When an SMS arrives
PhonIQ reads the message on your phone to spot OTPs, bank payments and bills. The result is stored on your phone. The message is not sent to us or to anyone else to be read.
What is optional
Two features use the internet for your data, and both are off until you turn them on. PhonIQ Chat sends end-to-end encrypted messages through Google Firebase, in the countries where it is offered. Drive backup saves an encrypted copy to your own Google Drive when you start it.
How ads are chosen
Ads appear only as rows in some lists: the Messages inbox, Recents and Money's More section, never in a conversation, during a call, in OTPs or bank threads. They are chosen by the screen they are on, never from your SMS, calls or money. Personalised ads stay off unless you turn them on, and PhonIQ Pro removes ads.
